Ireland
EU/EEA Citizens
Introduction
Citizens of the European Union or the European Economic Area (other than Bulgarian and Romanian nationals) can live and work in Ireland relatively hassle free, due to the EU policy of free-movement of labor. In most cases, you just go to Ireland, register your presence with valid identification (passport, etc), and start work.

Irish Green Card
Introduction
The Irish Green Card is an immigration scheme which allows non-European Union citizens to work in Ireland in occupations where labor shortages exist, or for occupations which pay more than 60,000 euros per year (not including bonuses).
Unlike employment permits in other EU countries, either the employee or the employer can apply for an Irish Green Card. On top of that, a labor market needs test -- a test which assures the government that an Irish citizen or an EU national could not be found to fill the job -- is not required.

Ireland
Introduction
Ireland has come a long way in the last few decades. Before its entry into the European Union, most of its citizens were leaving Ireland. However, that's far from the case, now. The island nation's strong economy, fueled by liberal tax and immigration laws, has caused a rebirth in Ireland's prosperity.
